Today I met an Accywebber...

... at 6am in Asda.

He was lovely and polite, and generous with his croissants and coffee. I hope I get to meet plenty of other Accywebbers like him during the holidays, as it was a lot of fun.

Thank you Mikesz for the lovely morning, I wish more people were like you :) an hopefully I made a good impression!

the only 'young ladies' I've ever come across at that time of the morning drinking coffee were the hookers who were taking a break before looking for the early morning trade before calling it a night .

I'm sure that any accyweb member meeting another one would find them welcoming, everyone I have met has always been very pleasant, I bet that even J.B. and I would get on in person, we all are worth a little bit more tolerance after we know a little more about each other.

:)

Well I've only met a very small number of Accy Webbers, er, well three to be exact, cashy, Cyfr/Andrew and Mthead and they are all first class guys, so if anybody fancies a brew when your in or around Ossy call in I'm a very captive audience, :D

Glad you didn't post this earlier. I was in Ossy today. I've met quite a few accywebbers and the counselling bills are costing me a fortune, one more may have tipped me over the edge :p

Here, here! Just like us, hey, Less?

Although the main flaw with becoming all friendly and pally with your sworn enemies is that the arguments stop! ;)

And let's face it what would this site be without the really spectacular and great arguments?

Quite right, Gayle. Ever since I met you and found that you were not the humourless, PC-obsessed harridan of my imagination, but actually a very nice, friendly person, I've felt much less urge to argue with you. I was even worried about you when you disappeared!

Which, in a way, is a pity...

I'm well aware of how I come across on here and I'm honestly nothing like as stuffy as I probably come over. It's just that sometimes I have to be very careful about the way I say things just in case it's misinterpreted or in case it's sensitive information. Also, I sometimes have to be careful about what I say as once it's written down it could in the future be used against me.

There is a thread on here somewhere when I was just the other side of tipsy - I don't think I'll be able to find it now - but I let my guard down then :D

You would not see an accywebber if they sat next to you on the bus so no chance you seeing them in town :D

The amount of accyweb members i meet in town is that many i have to add another hour to any shopping i have to do or if i am meeting someone at 12 i leave home at 11 to make sure i get there around 12:D just in case i get stopped i must admit i do enjoy meeting accyweb members though.

By the way i will be in Asda about 11am tomorrow (sat) so if you see me stop me for a chat i dont bite (much)

If you must know, I couldn't sleep (as any accywebber who stays on til the early hours will know is a common occurrence) so I walked to asda to buy The Economist and a new toothbrush.

Gayle 28-06-2008 07:51

Re: Today I met an Accywebber...

Can I tell you what frustrates me most? I go into town or I'm at an event and I see someone looking at me who I don't know. Then I get home and get a pm from someone on here saying "Hi it's ******, I saw you at such and such a place but you looked a bit busy so I didn't come over to introduce myself".

Or I'm at the event and afterwards get a pm from someone saying, "did you know such and such was there" and then they proceed to reel off a list of Accywebbers that were at the event who didn't say hello.

Today I [briefly] met another accywebber just by chance! Lolly overheard me chatting on the bus to Jaeswifts gran/panthers mother and decided to say hello!

I think its nice when people say hello unexpectedly, so if anyone else see's me out and about then please do say hi, i'm normally in my grey or green lancaster uni jumper so I'm not too difficult to spot whether you want to say hi or run away!

You and hubby will have to try and get to a meet Margaret .. if only for an hour.

I can honestly say I have never met one Accywebber I dislike .. we are all different .. there again, don't think I dislike anyone really. Just love meeting them in the flesh, get a better understanding of some of their posts (can then imagine them actually saying it) and will realise not meant as abrasive as you think some posts can come across.

Margaret Pilkington 03-07-2008 12:24

Re: Today I met an Accywebber...

Katex, don't think I haven't tried...but he gets into those old joggers and takes off his socks and that is him done....he gets into a recumbent posture and only the call of nature or a brew that will lift him off the settee.

I really don't understand because in company he is very sociable....and will talk to anyone on any subject.

I am very easy going, and there are few folk that I don't get along with....though some people irritate me sometimes.......I put that down to ME, not them.
One day Kate, we will turn up and surprise you all.

As an act of kindness to the human race I was going to say it's you who should be avoided, but then I thought discretion was the better option :D

Re: Today I met an Accywebber...

I have never knowingly met an Accywebber until today......hello Romps!

It is so funny as I have known her for a couple of years now as our children go to school together but I never knew that she was Romps!

I also never knew that her husband was Neil.

It's made me wonder how many more Accywebbers I see on a regular basis without realising who they are. :D

was out with oscar tonight up owd bobs n passed this lady wi a dog, on the way back we met again n i was asked are you on accyweb? i said yes, she said you are cashman aren't you, we had a good natter n it was Janet who turned out to be a very nice lady, who was one of the first members, i remember her on here from way back, she was very helpful to me when i was after some Terry Dene music, sadly she don't come on much now as she's no internet at home, anyway if she does read this at some point, was a pleasure to meet you.:);)
