It may seem a strange thing to say but I hope I have it.
It is better to have something treatable instead of narcolepsy which isn't.
Anything to end this need for 11 hours sleep a day and the social isolation it brings.
I have done more websearching and found the Pernicious Anaemia Society -getting some good advice there - I'm even contemplating a donation :D

I have read that thread - nothing 'lost' that I can see  - about operations.
This thread is about useless GPs who don't manage to make a diagnosis.
When I told my doc that I was struggling to stay awake, and was sleeping 10 or 11 hours a day, his response was "drink lots of coffee" I have done web research and visited the district nurse 'off my own bat'

Hi

i have just seen your postings on Vit B12

the tablets dont work you just pass the B12 straight out
I think I am right in saying that the injections go directly in to the muscle so I wonder if the patches can work?

Glad to know I'm "full of beans" sounds like a bit-part in "Blazing Saddles"! It may be partly psychological, but I do feel better after a B12 jab - in spite of the "ouch" factor.

RIGHT i went to the doctors for my blood results this morning and....they were'nt there :(

the doctor rang the path lab to chase the results and guess what....they hadnt even had my blood to test it :( i dont know where the bloody hell my blood went, but it didnt go to where it was supposed to go :(
the doc took SOME MORE blood from me today and said i have to go back in a weeks time for the results, i was gutted, so thats yet another week of me feeling tired and drained, i aint a happy bunny :(

Their incompetance can be very frustrating but don't let it get to you.
Remember to ask for a B12 deficiency test even if a normal anaemia test is negative.
Get it sorted, and we will both turn up at the next meet looking and feeling great.
Persistence matters ---- stay with it girl :D

Re: Useless Doctors

I have got results of the 2nd blood test - vitB12 level normal- I am not entirely convinced so I have put on a B12 patch and wait to see if it makes a difference (overdose does no harm)

Now I am to have chest xray and electrocardiagraph - hmmm - so now they are looking at heart and lungs - both past their sellby date I suppose

I was hoping that I was B12 deficient because there is an easy remedy to restore health - looks like what I have got is the 'non-restorable type' :(

I wish I could say something helpful, because I know how this feels, but I cant, just sometimes you have to sleep. Its frustrating especially when you have a family but no way round it.

I know you have assumed it is your blood but have you considered it might have something to do with the foods your eating? Anything with gluten / wheat makes me tire. I am just guessing sometimes you can see a relationship with tiredness and foods consumed.

hope you eel better soon
