My left breast
I am no prude about modern art, but all of you who have the Observer must have noticed the article regarding Beverley Chapelhow and her exhibit at the Blackburn Museum.
Sorry, no link to this story. She has made a sculpture from MDF and then painted bright red. Her husband has a 3D scanner and scanned her left breast and put an image on screen. All 'very high' tech she quotes. Goes on to say "Because it's big and red it takes people a while to realise what it is. But then people's first reaction is that they want to touch it". It measure 5' x 3' Mmmm ... wonder what she will scan next ? Don't know how Lisa Kenyon kept a straight face whilst writing the article.... :D:D Is it me ? |

Re: My left breast
wonder what she would have said if some bloke had said to her when she was hairdressing "get your boobs out" would it have been sexual harrassment then

Re: My left breast
For anyone who hasn't seen a picture (sorry no scanner meself), looks like the big pear drop at Ossy Mills only with a 'knob' on it !

Re: My left breast
I quite like it, would'nt do it justice in my humble abode but I think it looks nice. Am a great fan of the female human breast, it's a remarkable piece of work, sensual, beautiful and yet the most important thing to a new born baby, it's a fantastic piece of kit! I always quite fancied having a bronze done of mine, maybe still time!:) And any bloke who says they don't like them is either a) lying  b) lying to themselves!

http://www.gcncltd.co.uk/index_files/image274.jpg Waste of a piece of MDF if you ask me. Pity when folk can't get attention without going to extremes. Nuts and weirdo's. Retlaw. |
Re: My left breast
Wonder if she had done her right one ... would it have been done in blue ? :D
|
Re: My left breast
As a piece of art I quite like it. At least it's better than Tracy Emin's bed. :D

Re: My left breast
I thought the art education system had gone tits up when I read she'd done her degree in Blackburn.
Personally I don't like it. I think it looks more like a drip than a breast, and the colour seems meaningless. For me you can't knock Dali's breast when it comes to mammaries as art. http://active-media.com/helms/pictur...reast_abig.jpg :D |
Re: My left breast
only problem is why choose MDF , dosnt she realise that over the years it will develop wrinkles and may start to sag in places ?
hmm its more realsitic than what i first thought |
