Follow the link to the rhyddings school website. look at the latest news letters.

As a parent i like to blame the school for not personally handing every letter to the parents. The lazy teacher only give the letters to the kids to take home no wonder parents never get the information.

Do you expect the teachers to hand deliver the letter to your house? In their own time? Or do you expect them to stand the school gates and give them to the parents ... but not every parent takes their 15 year old to school .. when i was at school i went on my own after the age of 8 ... do you expect them to post it to every pupil .. 1051 x 30p (thats second class) .. every time there is a letter to go out .. £315.30 Wouldnt you agree that money is probably better spent on the pupils at the school ... not on postage when the kids can take a letter home. Its up to the parents to make sure the kids know that letters home from school is given that day ... And for your information ... my niece is a teacher of primary school children .. and teachers are not lazy ... they work very hard ...

Rhyddings Business and Enterprise School can now be followed on Twitter, at Rhyddings B&E School (Rhyddings) on Twitter

Letters, Newletter and other important information will be posted here for parents and members of the community, hopefully this should improve the problems of parents recieving information.

well that still doesnt help get our PE kit in the shops does it

Re: Rhyddings NEW P.E kit

I am aware that it doesnt help get the kit into the shops, but it certainly means that if it was to become available in any shops, the details could be passed onto parents during the summer months.

In the meantime, the kit is available to purchase from the suppliers website

Surridge Sport

note only shirt, shorts and socks are needed to be purchased, any others are optional extras.

As for the letter regarding parents coming into school to purchase the kit, i understand that this was purely done to enable the child to try on the kit for fitting purposes as the kit is made to order by Surridge.

the problem was though, we had to pay for it there and then, i know i certainly didnt have any money on that specific day

there will be a heck of a lot of children going back to Rhyddings in September WITHOUT a P.E kit

Did the school not order a large quantity of each of the essential items seeing as everything is made to order?

Which presumably is going to cost the parent 15% more for VAT which the school could claim back if they provided them, not to mention postage costs which will probably add at least 10% more ?

Re: Rhyddings NEW P.E kit

If the school can claim back VAT they will have to charge it when they sell them to parents anyway.

Not 100% sure but I would guess that if they are classed as a not for profit organisation then they wouldn't have to pay VAT. When I get time I may look it up :D

I haven't bought the PE kit and I have no intention of buying it either, my son leaves next time so it's a complete waste of money and I will not be told where I have to buy something from, there is a little something called consumer choice!

Re: Rhyddings NEW P.E kit

exactly Nikki, unless they are in the shops by September Reece wont be having one either...a certain P.E teacher seems to have struck a deal with Surridge who just happen to supply Bradford City's football strip, i'm just wondering if he is related to someone in the Surridge company

Out of curiosity how do schools decide who can supply uniform and how is copyright of the school badge licensed ? Surely the taxpayer owns the copyright ? On what basis do places like Abbey St stock school uniform ?
