Cashew Nuts

Bought myself a large packet as a treat.
Oh, boy, was I disappointed.

I hadn't noticed the packet said, 'salt free',

In the past cashew's came with so much salt there was always a large portion for the ridiculously brave to tip the packet with the few remainimg nuts and a years worth of the white stuff to keep an alcholics thirst from being satisfied.
I've eaten the nuts, next to no flavour, I don't think healthy eating will catch on with me, next time I'm tempted, I'll go for something tasty like a smoked bacon sandwhich, plenty of salt and lot's & lot's of brown sauce.

Sodium chloride is bad - real salt is good
(sea salt and himalayan salt)

It is chemically the same stuff, only your minds chemical imbalance allows you to think there is a difference.
Such a shame, with all the things that you so easily believe, you must have been a real pushover for the dodgy chat up lines when you were younger.

Thats due to the essential minerals that processed salt doesn't have.

Not quite true Less, whilst salt is salt, the salt that is sold in containers for table use, contains additives. I have to restrict my salt intake for diabetic, and blood pressure reasons, but I can get away with a moderate amount of Sea Salt.

If and it's a big IF, the pink is an essential mineral, how come people like myself that have never used it manage to survive.
Essentially, such thinking as yours is flawed.

Tell it like it is, Less.

If you read the following guff you'll wonder how we ever managed without it.

Himalayan Crystal Salt – UK seller of Pink, Black, Sea & Gourmet Salt

Less, I would have tossed the salt free nuts into a hot non stick pan, toasted them for a couple of minutes, then added just enough salt to make them palatable.

Just read that, christ, 2 teaspoons of that, and we could all be 20 again.
I'm curious to know how it gets rid of heavy metals, does the NHS know about this stuff.

My thoughts exactly Walter, but some people will believe anything.
