When Roy first started the site in 2003 he was working away in Russia, there wasn't facebook etc in fact most of the world was still on slow & expensive dial up.
So the site was a cheap way for ex-pats to keep in touch with folk at home.
I suppose really it should be, it's great how all the ex-pats let us locals play on THEIR website.

Aye, summat like. Had a dream the other nite. It was in the prairies of southern Saskatchewan ... in the village of Kincaid at the junction of hwys. 13 and 19. I was running accross the stubble fields attempting to catch a bus ... you know, one of those dreamtime runs where you don't get no place. And the bus was coming down 13! It was an old Accy double decker, the No. 1.:eek:
