We seem today to be in some threads very political, no-one is going to agree, politics is like that.

Hang on though, can we agree that when unions had power I mean real power, it could take several days just to get a light bulb changed.

It was wrong, Jaysay's pin up Mag's sorted that out, anyone competent from then on anyone could change that silly little bulb.
A big success for the Tories and perhaps sensibility.

What do we have now? Government approved Health and Safety, that says you can't change a bulb unless you have a certificate that allows you to.

So,

We have gone from unions (horrible nasty things), saying our workers must be safe and therefore one man one job, to Government approved one man one job but to do it we will tax, erm sorry, I mean put you on an expensive training course, so that you can assess if the bulb needs changing and if so, how many weeks it will be to set up the scaffolding to change the bulb.

No wonder I'm unemployed!

its still the same as its outsourced if its not on an order sheet they dont do it. so much for private companies being superior.they cost more money than inhouse ever did.in fact its outsourced twice once to the privatised building management,then to their sub-contracters who sometimes sub-contract again.

Are you saying you've got to fill in an order sheet to get a pint in Scotland? And they'll outsource it?
I know they're trying to cut down on drinking in Scotland but this is ridiculous!
