God and the cyclist

A cyclist was riding on a road along the Kent coast when suddenly the sky clouded above his head and, in a booming voice, the Lord said:

"Because you have tried to be faithful to me in all ways, I will grant you one wish."

The cyclist pulled over and said: "Build a bridge to France so I can ride over anytime I want."

The Lord said, "Your request is materialistic, think of the enormous challenges for that kind of undertaking.

The supports required would reach the bottom of the Channel!

The concrete and steel it would take!

It will nearly exhaust several natural resources. I can do it, but it is hard for me to justify your desire for worldly things.

Take a little more time and think of something that would honour and glorify me."

The cyclist thought about it for a long time.

Finally he said,

"Lord, I wish that I could understand my wife. I want to know how she feels inside, what she's thinking when she gives me the silent treatment, why she cries, what she means when she says nothing's wrong, and how I can make a woman truly happy."

The Lord replied, "Do you want one lane or two on that bridge?"

I do hope that cyclist wasn't Catholic, otherwise you will be in trouble with the religious humour policeman that comes on here, in future if you are going to do a religious joke could you state that it is humorous and in no way an insult to Christians of any denomination.

Re: God and the cyclist

I don't believe in God anyway so don't care what they say.

I suppose I should describe by beliefs as not caring if there is a God or not because if there is I can't believe He is a good entity.

I preferred the first joke in this thread, it had a better punchline!
