Thumbs up Return to your youth

If you can overlook the American slant..............and you are 50 plus years old, lean back in your chair, close your eyes..........and relive your past.

If you are under 50, be educated in "proper" programs on telly like

Re: Return to your youth

Thanks Busman. Sent it on to my big brother who's 50. He really enjoyed it. As a 1960 child, I actually would have remembered lots of them I think. We had a black and white until like 1972 and could only watch "wholesome" shows. "Evil" shows like Happy Days and even the 3 Stooges were not allowed.

I wish I had broadband so I could have watched it. As always appeciate your varied offerings!

Brian

Why was Happy Days considered evil?

They seemed as sweet as apple pie, though they did I suppose dance round the juke box to the Devil's Rock 'n' Roll music.

Mind you it was a bit of a sin putting Suzie Quatro into those leather cat-suits.

Re: Return to your youth

Growing up in a very fundamental house, you'd be surprised at what my parents came up with as evil.

I think with Happy Days it was that wild rebel Fonzi and his blatant "womanizing!" Also, all that rampant sexual innuendo and other rebellious high-jinks. Oh yeah, I wasn't allowed to go to a PG movie until I was 16. I think it was Jaws!

It'll all make for nice journal reading when I get a chance to start one.

Rindy just be glad I've adopted you rather than going through all that

It brought back lots of memories for me because we got a lot of those US TV shows here back then, although I think maybe we got some of them much later than you did over there. Maybe the US channels chucked them over to us when they'd finished with them.

I remember my Gran coming round to our house on Saturdays for her tea and to watch her cowboys. She didn't have a telly. Her favourite was the one she called "Chiang" - no it wasn't a forerunner of "Kung Fu", it was just the was she (mis)pronounced Cheyenne!
