Reece thought he was being clever this morning, i got up as usual at 6.45am,woke him up at 7, asked him what he wanted for his breakfast...........and he said....PANCAKES, we argued for about 5 minutes and in the end he settled for cheerios mum knows best

The 1st thing that came out of Rhys's mouth this morning was

Mum it's Pancake Day!!!

Bless em... am so glad I'm not working tonight... otherwise wouldn't have much chance to let them make pancakes

I love working... but when ya seem to miss out on all the special days it can be a pain lol
Especially when the kids are really looking forward to it and ya aint got time,
cos I gotta get em home then get ready for work

When I was a hard up newly wed in the early 60s I had a pancake day every Wednesday, because all there was left to eat was eggs, flour, and milk

Seeing this thread I thought I'd get in the spirit and have a go at pancakes, nipped down to Tesco and got some pancake batter mix (very cheap).
the thing is that the instructions on the pack seem strange :

in a jug beat together 1 egg and 200ml of cold water.
add sachet contents and whisk until smooth.
heat a little oil in 12 small tins.
add batter and cook in a pre-heated oven at 200*C gas mark 6 for 20-30 mins.

not sure but just dosen't seems right

Thats Yorkshire puds - same batter - just fry it instead
