Smell of burning in Church

we've just walked back from town to Church, as we turned down by what used to be the Fraser Eagle garage there was an awful smell of burning, anyone know if the fire engines have been out around that area tonight?
i was a bit concerned because there's a lot of old peoples accomodation around that area but we couldn't see anything

It was probably just the fire & brimstone being stoked up by the vicar ready to bring down upon the Unrepentant Sinners come Sunday morning, nothing like a good dollop of Damnation on a Sunday morning when you've got a hangover & a numb backside from sitting on those rock hard pews.
