Re: strangest thing offered on freecycle

No what I meant was...

(and I'm not wanting to hijack the thread here).

It's a little complicated./insider information here

IMO Despite what the press keep saying, Freecycle is not designed to be a place where people can go and post wanteds for stuff all the time.
(And I'm not having a go at you or saying you do that).

IMO The idea of Freecycle is that people use it to offer stuff to others rather than send it to landfill, in parallel with this we also allow our members to ask for stuff, however as many see Freecycle just as a place to get free stuff & never offer anything we have to limit the number of wanteds (without offering) to protect our already generous members who do offer.

On our local groups this is a limit of 3 wanteds per 30 days.

If a local member makes more than 3 genuine offers then they also get to ask for stuff in line with the number of offers, as long as it's not getting too high.

So I.E. if a local member offers 5 things they can also ask for 5 things in that same month.
(Assuming that they are offering 5 real things & not making false offers)(we can & do check this) - there is a higher limit but I'm not letting you know what it is

It is because of the total @rsewipe called "My Freecycle" (beta) that we let Blackburn borough members post because it is currently hard for us to check for crossposting or previous posting etc.

But then your not a local member of the Hyndburn group, you actually live within another groups boundaries and members from outside Hyndburn are allowed upto 3 wanteds as a courtesy, no more, irrespective of offers as they are generally cross posts & should be taken up from within their own area.

So basically, your stuffed & have to wait

Re: strangest thing offered on freecycle

People are always after pallets for something or other. Made a fence out of some a few years back.
Put a wanted on for an extra large one for under a shed and got it...delivered by a nice friendly local fireman, no less.

Take as many or as few as you like-please let me know how many/what sizes you want when you email so I can offer them all quickly.
