Well said Jen.
Maybe we should be more concerned with the grandparents at 30ish. Mother's at 14, who begat daughters who got pregnant at similar age...
What sort of grandparents do they make?? not tarring all with same brush, but bears thinking about....

Admit that I found it difficult at first, at 36, but that may have been down to the 2 for 1 offer I got, lol, plus having 4 teenagers at home at the time. Plus by the time they were 2 I was a single parent again. Once The older ones left home, not long after, didn't find it a problem, even on my own.

They are the best form of contraception for me, after having them I know for sure that I will not be wanting / having anymore lol

No im proud of my kids, looks like iv brought em up well....but im no way broody!!...im getting ready live my life again in a few years when my youngest is older....dont want another screaming poo machine thankyou very much!!

I am proud of my 2, but I know just how tiring (both physically and mentally) it is having young children and Im not going through it all again lol

You never know how long you are going to love so saying older grandparents won't be around isn't always the case. My first husband died when our children were only 7 and 10 so he didn't get chance to be a parent for all that long never mind a grandparent. On the other hand I k ow people who live on into their 80s and 90s. You just never know.

I have 17 years between my two children, I was 39. The only thing I worried about with my son was Down's Syndrome .. refused the amniocentesis because of the risks,(although new tests coming along now), and this child at 16 weeks with results 4 weeks later, was rippling in my womb and I was already deeply in love with it. Turned out OK thank goodness.

Yes, I do worry that I will never see my son married or one of his children (he doesn't appear to be in any push at the moment

).

I handled my age quite well, but did find that with my grandaughter appearing 7 years later, and having to look after her over and above the normal of 'you can hand them back at the end of the day', not particularly easy ... working in Manchester too. Wasn't so much the looking after her, reading stories, playing board games etc., that was a piece of cake ... just the patience to come down to their level of age .. ya' know acting daft running around, not being able to take your attention away from her, pulling funny faces a little tiresome.

We are also forgetting the fellas here too, remember your sperm also has a fertility clock from 40 years onward and takes a nosedive which can throw up genetic problems in your offspring. So Flashy .. don't go for an older man ..

Nah dont worry bout it em . You should know by now hun its a kid friendly zone here there isnt much they can bring harm or damage too . infact they are doing great they seem to know just where they can play now. think they been watching his lordship lol..

There is 15 years between me and my eldest sister ........ and she had her first child when i was 6 1/2 ....... less of a difference between me and my niece than me and my brother!!! My mum looked after my niece for the first 3 years and then she went to a childminder nearer to home and nursery.

True, they are good, just need them to learn that no matter how hard they try, they will not be able to teach the walkie talkies to swim
