yes i lived there from the age of 1 until 12 only 3 children though the rest were grown up

it was between 1964 until 1976 i was the only girl that lived there so it probably was me

I have only just stumbled on the image of Hyndburn road. In 1950 just the foundations where there. we played for hours down there before the sub station was built there where of course the property next to the graveyard

great old pic,never seen it before, i used to work in that dept of the ewbank,never remember that old green door being open, dont know you carolef but remember yer brother "Ced".

i think that the old cotton mill in the background eventually became BROUGHTONS the plumbers merchants, the green door on the left is still there,it used it lead to the old accy transport dept and is now a rear entry for JEWSONS

The building just past Ellisons tennemant is the old gas and water works yard where I did my apprenticeship. We used to go accross the road for tea sometimes but I can,t remember the name of the lady who made it, maybe it was your mum Carol, it would be about 1965-70. The gas storage tanks were at the back of your house, right. I also remember an archway with some offices used by the gas board attatched to the houses.

My Mum worked at Ewbank too but it was a long time ago.

My mum worked there as well, she finished when they moved to Burnley.

I remember that graveyard being sold. Macpelah - means ''God's Acre' I was told, by a baptist, that the baptists used to baptise people in the river down there.
