Nearest number to that one Bob in my collection of old lurries is CW 7731, a very similar lurry with solid tyres and the rear of the cab looks the same. That was owned by Howard and Bullough and was number 19. I have posted a photo of it on here in some other thread quite a while ago. No much use to you am I really but I thought I would mention it.

I am glad you use the term "lurry" because as you and I know that was the name originally given to such motors.
If you want the photo again I will post it for you.

I also have another photo of one of H&B's lurries with the number CW 5397 but funny enough it looks a bit newer and has pump up tyres

For good, bad or for any other reason I have finally managed to impress someone.

I am impressed., I will pour myself another pint Stella to celebrate.

Me impressing someone, I never thought I would see the day.

I hope you washed your mouth out Retlaw after mentioning that street or should I say fingers after typing the name. (ugh), I agree along with all the rest of the garbage on TV which go under the name of "Soaps"

Give me the old "steam wireless" any day.

Just HAD to go round to see Norfolk Street for myself to see if I was in the correct part of town for photo no. 2
Am wondering, if, because I was born Coppice Avenue, which is in the same area, was I having "flashbacks" to my youth , cos it def looks like Norfolk St to me. What do you think?

(AND CAN I JUST ADD, I WAS NOT IN ACCRINGTON IN THE 1920'S!!!!!!

Yer as daft as me, Atarah. I spent ages looking at images on street view of Norfolk street and that is the one I came up with. Due mainly to the decoration around the door (can just see a little bit on the old photograph). Clever girl.

Didn't put it up because their copyright guidance is a little unclear.

They call her Atarah because she keeps at it - taking the time to go to Norfolk St and matching Retlaw's great photos with the houses she thought they were. Take a bow, girl.

Hi Retlaw, I am related by marriage to the Wixteds & was wondering which Wixted is missing from the memorial. Are you referring to James Clarence?
