Just taken a look at the old photo - and now I know exactly where this photo is from - I can't believe I didn't recognise it, it's practically at the bottom of my road!

When you say approximately, how near do you think you were to the original site of picture being taken?
I would personally have said well to the other side of the tax office, nearer to the roundabout.
Could be wrong though! I remember the Bull but not a lot more on the photo

Quite right KSH, the problem of course is that if I had taken it from nearer the original location the Inland Revenue building would have just simply dominated the photo. Will wait a while before putting names to the lettered buildings etc. Just give the Local Historians a chance.
