GHD Hair Straighteners

Are they worth the money??

I really want some but am having trouble justifying the cost of them.

I've heard both good and bad things about them.

What do you think?

They are the most fabulous invention ever! :D

I cannot praise them enough.....I couldn't do without mine, no other straightener even comes close to doing as good a job as these do.

I would pay twice the amount they cost for mine....they are absolutely invaluable.

They are overpriced poor quality. I have repaired these in the past and for the money they really should be made to a higher standard.

I have 2 pairs of straighters... 1 pair of £60 ones and a pair of £8 wilkinsons ones...... the £8 ones are better i think it depends on your hair type, next time you get your hair cut go somewhere that has ghd's and see if you like the result.

Maybe if your hair is quite fine and not very curly then the cheaper ones would suffice.

My hair is like wire wool. If I wash it and leave it to dry naturally I end up looking like Mel B.

I've tried cheaper straighteners...they don't get my hair straight. I just end up with hot frizz. :(

GHDs rock in my opinion! :mosher:

I hope not cos mine are the mk IV

Have had them a yr-ish

They come with a 2 year guarantee tho, which is good:D

I would definitely go out and buy another pair as soon as mine break!

No they just stopped working completely, just wont power up. If youre good with things like this, let me know would gladly pay to get them back working.

Mine cost 18 pounds and are great i don't think i could justify spending 100 pounds on something like that!!

Re: GHD Hair Straighteners

Kodo hair straightners are just as good as GHD's and cost from £20 upwards, If you do a search ongoogle you'll find they get a really good review. I got some last Christmas and they have been fine for me.

Have a look at these ones. I had a play with them a few weeks ago in my hairdressers, they were good and the vibrating bit prevents snagging of the hair which you sometimes get even with GHD's tho I do like my GHD's I may be tempted with these if they needed replacing.

I dont rate GHD's, I think they are over hyped

I have super thick curly hair and the best straighteners I have used are by Corioliss

You can get them from Sallys, round about £80, they have different colours and patterns, I have skull and crossbones, my friend has red leopard print

Way way better than GHD's, if you go into sally, they let you try all the different straighteners

You cheeky beggar. :p

It must have been your wit that won Romps's affections.....can't have been your looks. :p:D

Or was it the fact that you are a dab hand with broken GHDs that won her over? :D

If you do go for GHDs then visit their website first
I bought mine ( over 5 years ago stil goping strong) then I thought oo I'll have a nosey at the site - and lo and behold you could send your old straighteners (any kind/make) and recieve a "20 voucher off a pair of ghds - too flippin late when you have already bought them.

Be very careful if you ever buy any 2nd hand one, there was a very bad reputation for these catching fire a few years back.

My wife wouldn't be without hers... me, she can do without :D

Vibe Hair Straighteners, Hair Tools Vibrating Hair Straightener, Salon Styler UK

Paul saw these the other day, apparently that Adee of "The Salon" fame swears by them.

He said he would buy me these but not GHD's!

That hairdressers in town are doing the same deal, you know where you just walk in next to Gregs. Me and my daughter went the other day and I was quizzing her about them and she said they have that deal on.

I WILL get some. He knows I won't shut up until he buys me some. I was like that about my car and I'm getting that now :)

Re: GHD Hair Straighteners

Forget ghd, this is the next BIG THING. Cloud Nine straighteners. You can do everything with it, and best of all, it has a temperature control so it can be red hot or you can turn it down if you have finer hair or want it look a bit more natural or do curls. I read about it on twitter and I can't wait to get my hands on one

katex 25-09-2009 21:52

Re: GHD Hair Straighteners

All the hair straighteners I have owned in the last few years have had temperature control Curlygirly ?

I had my hair straightened with them at the barbers shop and they did no better a job than my Nicky Clark ones. Could have saved my-self four quid.

Re: GHD Hair Straighteners

i have two sets of straighteners, i have Nicky Clarke and Toni & Guy, with my hair being short now i'm prefering my Toni & Guy ones (they are thinner) at the moment....but i need to invest in some GHD's they keep my hair straight all day
