A couple of my friends had this done last year what a fantastic job the surgeon did highly recommend hes at Gisburn Park., I have recently come into contact with other women that he has done boob jobs on they look great.

Spend your money on something else, why endure pain if you don't need to? You would never catch me having any surgery by choice.

Me neither.....look at Hendry's wife.....OK. I know it is a different thing but I would only have surgery to save my life.

If you want a bigger bust just have an extra one put between the other two.
If you change your mind later it will be easier to reverse the surgery

Please, Margaret, apart from the novelty angle how does having 3 boobs enhance the allure of one's bosom?

Don't some women with big boobs have reduction surgery done? Maybe in a few years time we could be looking at Boob swaps or transplants. It should reduce the cost a bit and just think of all the landfill space to be saved from not dumping used silicon bags.

You don't need any of mine then..... there is some procedure where they inject a filler to firm them up but it only lasts about 12 months, so could be costly in the long run if you keep having it done........ saw it on embarrassing bodies (Channel 4)last week..... not something I would do tho'

Well, the last time I saw you, down the old Railway, you were complaining about depression and lack of self image.

Perhaps you should work on a cure for that, before you do something physical that you may regret once your mind sort's itself out?

Nothing whatsoever if you aren't doing it out of desperation, however I think it would take more than six weeks for your depression to allow you to think in such terms in a responsible manner, just be careful.

Less i've been on anti-depressants for years, the reason i'm depressed has nothing to do with my looks (i know i should be depressed because of how i look but hey ho) i was only asking a question in my original post, i cant even afford a boob job yet, give it another 20 years at work and i might just be able to afford it

Re: Boob Job

I don't think so Marg what a young age to die. Watched a programme the other night about breast cancer and believe you me the way the women were pulled about whilst in theatre should be enough to make anybody think twice about having surgery for cosmetic reasons.

Neil, that may be so, but why take the risks?
All operations have an inherent risk to them.....if you have to have something done because your well being depends on it then fair enough, but to take the risk because of vanity or 'fashion'....in my book it isn't worth it.

Some of these operations are done to try and resolve depression type issues, would you agree with that as being required?

More should be done to look at the underlying issues that make people want cosmetic surgery. I most certainly wouldn't contemplate having surgey unless it was absolutely necessary.

I agree Neil ... not always particularly what you call depression with some ladies, just that they have always been unhappy (yes, obsessed) with the size of their boobs and affects their self-confidence ... particularly when they are young.

I have personally experienced fantastic changes in friends after having this operation and well worth the risk for the difference it made to their lives. They walk tall now instead of stooping.

Re: Boob Job

No Neil, I do not agree with doing any surgery for depression.......It would need a different approach.
The other thing is that some women will say anything to get whatever they think wil limprove them.....but they usually are not satisfied with one procedure....the underlying issues need to be tackled and it has to be confirmed that there is a true psychiatric illness...even then I am not entirely sure that surgery is the answer.

People with the money to pay for surgical procedures will get it done because they can pay(Denise Hendry fell into this category)......on the NHS, I think the selection procedures for cosmetic surgery are more rigorous.

BERNADETTE 11-07-2009 15:46

Re: Boob Job

I know a woman who had what can only be described as very radical surgery on the NHS after having two c-sections and not liking the tummy she was left with. When I say radical she was cut more or less all the way round the middle to be treated. Luckily she came through it fine but what if she hadn't? There could quite easily have been three very young children left without a mummy. I agree with Marg on this one.

accyman 11-07-2009 16:25

Re: Boob Job

thousands of people have cosmetic surgery each year with no problems at all, its only when some partialy famous person or some Z list celibrity has a problem it gets blown all out of proportion

theres risk in all surgery but there are differnt levels of risk for different surgeries so if bigger boobs or a smaller nose is that important to you then knock your socks off because in the scale of things its not as risky as a lung transplant or somthing

BERNADETTE 11-07-2009 16:37

Re: Boob Job

No it isn't as risky as a lung transplant or many major ops but by the same token a boob or nose job is not going to save your life. I would say the number of people having lung transplant or any major surgery do so in the hope that it will save their life and there is a world of difference IMHO

i suppose it depends on if somone is so fed up with tehir body they are preppared to jump off a cliff or not to as wether or not plastic surgery saves lives or not

Yes I can see that but think it should be looked at more deeply. Sort of work from the inside as to why they are so unhappy with theirself. Medias perception of what we must look like has a lot to answer for, I'm sure if people worked on their self esteem quite a lot of cosmetic surgery could be avoided.

Margaret Pilkington 11-07-2009 17:23

Re: Boob Job

If someone is fed up enough to jump off a cliff....then once they have jumped off that cliff, they will get all the surgery they need to put their life back together and it should(if they survive) lend some perspective to their perceived inadequacies.

The folk who want to embark upon plastic surgery should have to work for a month or so in a unit that treats young cancer sufferers/servicemen who have lost limbs.....those whose disease has disfigured them.......and then maybe they would realise that having surgery is not really the answer to their problems......and that what they see as problems are not problems at all.

Every single one of us(except perhap Benipete) has something about their physical shape that they do not like very much......but we have to learn to live with the realities of life.

And Flashy, surgery would not guarantee that your boobs would stay perky forever.
You should be judged on something more than the sum of your bodily attributes.

I think it is coming to something when teenage girls are having cosmetic surgery, aided and abetted by their equally vain parents, why not except what your born with and just thank the lord that your fit and healthy. The time for surgery is when your life is threatened by illness not when you don't like the shape of your nose or your backsides to big

From early days I thought that a handfull was enough - nothing has happened in the intervening years to change my opinion. Sorry girls, but that is my thought on the matter, no sense in changing what was intended

Come on Barrie ... you men are attracted to a decent cleavage initially, even though you don't hang around that department much when it gets down to it ... can't wait to get to the main target ...:D
