Re: Coffee (caffeine)

I don't really like coffee at all, except for the very occasional Cappucino after a restaurant meal. I drink tea if offered it socially but by choice always prefer a cold drink. I've never really understood the concept of tea being offered as a form of comfort, e.g. if someone's had a shock. To me it's just a drink plain and simple, designed to quench thirst. Also, if on holiday or on a day trip, I don't like spending a lot of time sitting around in cafes - it gets in the way of the sight-seeing!

I love being in cafes in new places - people watching at its best!

Makes me s**t too - quite useful but means I can't plan to do things right after my morning brew!

I don't drink much coffee at all....I prefer Tea.....to anything..even when it is warm weather......I find it just as refreshing and colling as a cold drink.
Judith, I think the tradition of offering a hot strong cup of tea to those who have had a shock was to get warm sweet fluids into them.......shock causes your blood pressure to take a dip a hot strong drink gives you some fluid to boost your blood pressure.
Please don't give hot, sweet, strong tea to anyone who had been involved in an accident...motoring or otherwise...it could compromise their hospital care.
My caffeine score was 2...so I can do without it quite nicely.

I didn't realise there was a lot of caffeine in a line of Coke.

However, you're the Scientist you should know!

Re: Coffee (caffeine)

In winter it takes me 3 strong caffetieres of coffee to get through the morning at work - in the summer I can take it or leave it I'll have one caffetiere max.

I need the caffiene to wake up in the dark - sunlight does the same trick for me but since Im up at 6am in the morning I only get that a few months a year!

I like coffee...

between home and work I have access to over 40 different blends/ beans. we have a choice of cafetierre sizes from 1 cup to 3 pint. we own 2 nesspresso machines

I like tea as well, just good old Lancashire tea does me nicely, milk and 2 sugars.

I drink cola most nights

according to this I should never sleep. :D

During my caffeine withdrawl period I notice that my arthritic pain has increased.

- World of Caffeine

I don't think I will be able to reduce my caffeine intake to zero because of this.
