I'll bring some cellotape to the pub later.

Re: Book Repair

Mick, there is a book conservator(that is someone who restores books) in Ramsbottom.

Cyril Formby Book Conservator
19-21 Market Place
Ramsbottom
BURY Lancashire

The bus for Bury stops right outside his door(on the opposite side of the road).
I hope this helps and it is local enough for you.
I cannot vouch for the quality of his work or what he charges....but you could phone him up to get some ideas I guess.
I saw your post this morning and I remembered seeing the sign on the window as we passed by bus on our jaunts out....so I googled 'Bookbinder + Ramsbottom' and it brought the details up.

Thanks Margaret I did know about that place noticed it on way to Bury was hoping for something a bit nearer to Accy
Looking at prices on the net the book is not worth the £65+ to repair
it only originally cost 1 shilling to buy new

I have just looked and there is a Bookbinder in Pringle Street in Blackburn, but often bookbinders aren't any good at repairs.
Can you still buy this book for a shilling?
I think you are going to have to let Less loose with his roll of Sellotape. :)

No I didn't forget I just didn't bring it, turns out the cellotape in my kitchen drawer is older than your book and probably worth more.

No still haven't found the kitchen, I just happened to move the drawer through to the drawing room several years ago, (Oh hell I can't be pretentious, I mean the front room), I needed something to stand my monitor on so that it showed above the layers of dust.

You call it a pile of letters,
I call it insulation the bigger the pile the lower the amount of heat that escapes through the cracks in the front door.
my main problem with that is its so high I can only get in and out through the front window.

well if you do find the kitchen you might find it has a door in it
its called a back door and another way out instead of the window

I store full bin bags against that also to stop drafts.

Re: Book Repair

In that case I better remind you next Friday that its wheelie bin day and to put your rubbish out even if you have to put them through the window
