Re: HBC Policy On Cardboard Collection?

That's what most people do anyway, stick it in the normal bins.

Are you suggesting I am not normal

Most houses around me have cardboard outside on collection day.

How do you know?

Do you root through other peoples' wheelie bins, prior to their collection?

No LOL, where I live we have communal bins, I went to put some paper in the correct bin and there was a few boxes of cardboard in the paper bin, so I lifted it out put my paper in then put the cardboard back in.

Re: HBC Policy On Cardboard Collection?

I wash all my tins and jars etc. It only takes a couple of seconds to run them under the tap. Our wheelie bin goes out the back one Wednesday and the recycling goes out the front on the other Wednesday. That's a bit of a pain as I have to traipse the blue tin bag through the house and the blue box for the glass. I keep those in my backyard until collecting day and usually they are wet and trail water through the house. The cardboard I store in the house and usually try and put all the smaller ones, squashed flat into a bigger one

Spot on there sue, it also makes sense as if your recycling it keeps unwanted vermin away too, where ever you store them
