Re: Ladies only .....

I have a mental block now..... What was that clear stuff called that we used to smear over our lipstick in the late 80's/early 90's???? It may be something like Lipcote, but I'm not 100% sure. For those of you who don't remember it, it tasted foul and made your lips sting when you applied it. It would keep your lipstick on for days though...

Hehehehehe yes it was lipcote - had that for ages, u had to apply it with your lips apart or they would stick together if not dried properly taking lip skin off with it but swore by it, not seen it for a while.

OMG!!!! I think I'll give it a miss . I do remember having to keep your mouth open when you applied it and I remember that it tasted vile, it may as well have been nail polish.

Re: Ladies only .....

It only stung at first. Once it was dry if you applied more that didn't sting. What the heck was in it?

Lipcote! I haven't heard of that for years. I remember putting that on. Like you say, it did the job but it tasted like that stuff you put on kids' fingers to stop them biting their nails!

Didn't they withdraw them too due to some adverse properties ?

LOL - maybe they did - but done enough googling today

It used to be the practice of little girls to lick a red smarty and smear the lips with it - did't you do it?
