Not sure where i had first pint,probably Black Bull when I worked for Bradley's. First local, St Leger Plantation st run by an irish guy,always seemed to have after hour drinking......lived in Oswald st so not far to stagger home.

Used both of em regular, Won highest score on pin ball in St Leger fer ages, much free ale, Then the landlord twigged.

At work the other day I turned into my Dad when I told one of the teenagers I work with that me and my mate used to go down the Bridge on Thursday night (early 70's) with a quid and bought 5 pints??? Cheap night out but I bet you could better that!!!!

A quid got me well oiled, a packet of fags, n chips on the way home early 60s. n still had a small amount of change.

I remember, on a couple of occasions, winning the jackpot on the one armed bandit in the Con Club in Accy. The joy when those forty tanners came out

Can't remember what I paid for beer in Accrington back in the '50s but do remember that a pint of scrumpy was 11d and a pint of Ushers bitter was 1s 3d in the Weston S Mare area in 1961/62
