I have to correct post 17, Sid sold The Lancashie Evening Post out of the office situated on Dutton Street, these papers were printed in Preston, the guy that gives me these jems, used to go into the Dutton St office to buy ticker tape results of the horses, off course betting was illegal but getting the results was not.

...and he was in Redmans' doorway every weekday too, around teatime, selling the Telegraph to passing homebound workers. I always had a good view of him as I was wasting the afternoon away idling around on the deck.

The newspaper office was in Dutton St where Sid collected his newspapers he did stand in Redmans doorhole, and sold the 'pink' aka Last Sports also. Will be seeing my mate Dick this afternoon in the Brooks Club, he's promised me some more of Dick Crossleys classic put downs, regards Ian

Forgotten all about them!! Think they'd gone by the time I was "serving my time" on the deck in the mid-60's. When did they demolish them?

Dunno, I was pretty sure they'd gone by the time the Dahlia opened or else there wouldn't have been room for all the scooters outside!

Perhaps they closed when the ones in Peel Street opened up, which would make it '62, but I'm just guessing. Anybody got any ideas?
