I was there 1950-1957 and don't recognize anyone except the teacher Jim Hanrahan and he looks young,so my estimate is 1945-1947.

If this works(???) this is between late 58 up to summer 59 . Sixth form AGS.
Recognise any of them? Didn't we look smart in our hated uniforms? Wouldn't dress like that on Saturday night.

I recognise two on that photo - 2nd and 3rd from left of the front row standing are Ian and Peter.(2 Ossy lads)

Peter was a dish! I do know his last name but don't put it here... B*t**r
I sometimes wonder what happened to him.

Far left hand side of picture, back row,Margaret.
Good photo of you, don't recognise you but if you have one dressed in your rounders outfit I just might remember!
Back to susies picture, Jim Proctor says after 1945. I wonder if during and just after the war you didn't need/couldn't get school uniforms?
We need Bob!

Think Cashy's estimate of the year is about right, I vaguely recognise one of the boys and he would have been at AGS about then.

There seems to be a mix of ages in the photo - I wonder if they had been away from school on a trip and hence were allowed to wear mufti?

The teacher however appears to be wearing a gown. What was his subject - that might give us a clue.

[QUOTE=Wynonie Harris;972424]I'm sure that shot was on the AGSOB site at one time and it was described as late 1940's. Can't find it now though. Think it's Lister Street in the background, Gordon. Certainly, the uniform regulations seem to have been abandoned - maybe they had special dispensation because of rationing etc.

During my time at the school, Ben enforced uniform rules with an iron hand...except towards the end of his regime, when he seemed to get a bit demob happy. There's one full school picture from April 1967, just before he retired, where I'm proud to say I'm not wearing one single item of school uniform! ;)[/QUOTE

Here is the photo. I will let you own up to which one is you, Steve!
