yes, all are available for free.make sure they have the latest definition files before you do teh scans

press Ctrl Alt and Delete buttons at the same time. Then click on the tab which says 'processes'. If you've closed off AccyWeb and think you have nothing else open there shouldn't be any reference to your browser. If there is, highlight it and click 'end now'

CPU at 0% is unlikely as it will need to do someting just to run windows.

There should also be a checkbox that says show process for all users??? or something like that. Make sure you can see all processes owned by SYSTEM

its all ok now, in the end had to format it all:( but everything is back on and now ive got mcafee(had to pay for it though) on and my commy is safe as houses:D ta for the info though.
and yes i have got a genuine copy of windows it came with the commy when i bought it:p
