My bullguard runs a daily quickscan and a big scan once a week......the quickscan used to pick up 14-20 viruses daily while I was using IE....but now nothing since I changed to Firefox. I am a new convert but I like it.
As for Norton...rubbish and does definitely slow down the machine....didn't like Macafee either......got a trojan while I was running the Free antivirus....so I now have bullguard.

It is cheaper than getting a trojan or a worm removed from your system.......and you can try it free for 60 days.

Here is a link for you to have a look at.

I've tried all the popular web browsers like firefox etc, just tried it again tonight, firefox doesn't work properly, when I log on to Ancestry British Medal Records, the print is so small its difficult to see, and there is no facility to increase the size, then it says I need an enhanced viewer, download now, then it starts jumping all over the place and won't download any thing, had to reboot to get rid of it.

Have you tried chrome? I did not like it when I first used it but its all I use now.

You can often increase the size of the text by holding down ctrl key and scrolling your mouse up and down or holding down ctrl key and pressing + or - on the keypad

That was one of the things I tried, didn't work, no matter what I change too, as far as web browsers are concerned, it either won't perform properly, or those nasty script error messages keep popping up,

As a web designer, I would advise everyone to avoid Internet Explorer, although latest versions are not as bad apparently. Designers have to jump through all kinds of hoops just to make their websites work right in IE, so many don't bother and IE users suffer.

Personally I prefer Opera, it is the fastest and I'm used to it. It crashes for no reason about once a month but you can retrieve all the tabs you had open so it's no big problem. Most web designers, however, swear by Firefox.

Another thing about font sizes is that if not designed right the fonts will not resize no matter what you do. If you could post the url, I could see if that is the case with the site you mentioned.

When I first loaded Firefox, I found the script too small......but I messed around and now on my task bar I have the ability to increase the font size...or decrease it.
Don't ask me how I got this facility, because I do not remember(even though it is only a matter of a few weeks ago).
When I get a new program, I go through the different ways of customizing it to my liking.........in fact that might just have been the way I did it......because it does have a 'customize' option.
