Alan.

You might find you need to unplug the wheelmouse whilst you tweak the settings and then plug it in again afterwards. Windows might be giving it priority in the order of which pointing device to use which will restrict the driver from being fully active.

Hi again Ian !!...

Have tried this....but, as reported, there are no relevant settings to tweak !..
Have finally found someone on the Advent Forum who appears to have some impression as to what is what...but as yet he seems to be as baffled as you, I, and 'Restless'....
will keep you posted !!.. Thanks... Alan.A

Entwisi and Restless !!....

Having been in touch with Advent..it appears that, as we feared, the Touchpad in their Monza Laptops is NOT a Synaptics product after all...thus any Drivers downloaded from them are totally useless !!!!.
Mind you Advent don't know which provider they used for the Pads.....so fine tuning of my pad and more importantly my Cursor is an impossibility.
I await further info from Advent...but am not holding my breath !!........Cheers and happy typing !!...... Alan.A.

I thought that may have been possible so after looking on that forum. What is your model number ?

Actually you could try this driver
ElanTech Touchpad Driver 8.0.7.0 - TechSpot Drivers

I've found it yippee !!..via c/applications/drivers I discovered that the Touchpad provider (s) were 'Sentelics' (never heard of 'em !)....SO..
I deleted all things Synaptics...found the Driver installation file for Sentelics....installed these...'Configuration' appeared in Mouse Pointers in Control Panel...I configured the desired settings....and now......the Pad and cursor behave themselves...( Touch Wood !!)....

Thanks for your concern...and to Entwisi'...meet again sometime ??......Regards Alan.

Maybe another case of manufacturers failing to provide accurate information and backup Margaret ??.
Thanks for your thoughts....AND this saga relating to Computers and myself is just one in a long line of 'confusing
discombobulations' believe me !!.

No maybe about it. They are that bad of a company that users have to make their own support site! It is pretty ridiculous.
