maxtor 5400

does anybody know if a maxtor 5400 desktop3.5 ide will be compatible with a time duron 1000 computer????40 gig

if teh PC has an ide controller ( which I would be willing to bet it does then yes. Look on teh motherboard for a connector marked as IDE0 and IDE1
