.....keeps installing itself on my computer, anybody know why?
Iv run virus scan and theres no virus

I have that problem too...I run on a pre programmed vista and the scanner of norton disrupts activities sometimes when I am wanting to place a late bid on Ebay.
Tried to get shut but the bloody thing will not go away. I have got sufficient cover with other software....I don't need Norton...any suggestions?

Do the usual uninstall then go to search and do a search for Norton/semantic and delete anything that the uninstall left behind Norton is known to be very hard to get rid of

You might even have to go into Program files and find a folder named Norton or Semantic and delete that too but be careful in there deleting the wrong folder could give you more problems.
When i got this new Laptop it had Norton on and it was the first thing i took off |

I wouldnt mind but I have never installed norton on my computer...ever, so how does it sneak in and install its self??
 ....anyway did what mick says and it hasnt been back......fingers crossed!
