Question Tech Sos

Can anyone give me an idea on a prob, my kids pc, the ps2 sockets on
it dont work certainly not the keyboard, i've got a usb to ps2
adapter plugins altho pc recognised new hardware n found driver im
finding that the keyboard still wont work n the pc keeps making
bleeping nosies, how do i get the pc to recognise the keyboard thro
usb, i know theres something ive got to do so the comp knows the
keyboard is now diverted to usb connection..........any ideas
gratiously recieved.

Check in the BIOS to see if there are any options re USB Keyboard/mouse.

The BIOS can be entered at the black screen you first get where it tells you how much memeory etc you have. Usually you press either F1, F2, del or F10 to enter the setup screens.

the keyboard making bleeping noises usually indicates that they keyboard buffer is full. at least it does to me. Is it an old keyboard? are any of the keys stuck down perhaps? have u got a spare keyboard to try.. that would be my start anyways.
