Volume problem

How do i turn it up? Ive tried the usual controls but the same speakers on my old one where much louder

there are numerous mixers on PCs which can all affect the output volume. there is normaly a volume control on the program itself, the windows mixer has at least two sliders that will affect it, the master on and another one (can't remember what label it gives it), make sure they are all at the top as a start.

what soundcard in the new PC?

you have checked you are using the right socket

are we talking a massive difference i.e. new ones only just loud enough where old ones blasted it or a bit of a difference
