Why i cannot shutdown my computer at the start menus?

when i click on the turn off button is just return me to the DeskTop then after a second i heard clicked sound.i try it again to turn off but still same thing happen.i nid to turn off using switch user and then the select user there to click turn off computer.
what is wrong with computer? thanks

I think its the tins of spam thats stopping it. Try removing all spam and try again and you will probably get further.

It might be nearer done when someone writes a decent touch pad driver for my NC10. This PC will stay xp for playing games

Have you installed some software recently ? if so it may be bundled with macros or malware causing it to mess up the system data.

Heh, the posters sig was 'tweaked' very soon after I responded, basically I believe its just a spam message trying to pass itself off as a genuine request. I've seen a number of them with similar MO.
