Re: Program

Adobe Photoshop is industry standard, but quite complex for beginners and also expensive unless you`re a quite unscrupulous person who uses Knocky software. Paint Shop Pro is a good user friendly image editor which generates great results quickly, V7 was my fave although 8 added a lot of good new stuff you lost animation shop. Then Corel took it over and I can`t vouch for subsequent versions. The newest aint always the best and so I don`t find need to upgrade my progs every 5 mins.
Anyway you know what I do with images so if you need any pointers I`ll try and help U out.

Re: Program

Photoshop is incredibly expensive (as in £500 for the new version)

Try GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program the free opensource alternative.

Re: Program

Animation Shop came free with the older issues of PSP when it was Jasc software. I think they stopped when Corel took them over. You can still pick up an old one sometimes from Amazon though.

I think Corel still offer a trial period download. It used to be 30 days, long enough to play about and see if you like it.

Re: Program

For logo design I'd have thought Adobe Illustrator would have been the recommendation?

Like Photoshop it is very expensive for occasional use, but you could try Inkscape as an open source alternative.

Inkscape. Draw Freely.

Illustrator is better for *real* logos, however if it is just for a website it might as well be done in Photoshop in a high resolution.
