all i can say now ive cooled down a bit- after watching these england players for years mostly- i am certain we were good enough to reach the final perhaps even win it, but the cretin( sven) played good players out of position, played 4-5-1, took 4 strikers 2 who were injured 1 striker who has never played (and he'd never seen him play) i think i deserve great praise for limiting my word to CRETIN.:D

I dont know about anywhere else, but there seems to be a great big cloud decended on cleveleys,,,,the heart as gone out of everyone...
Rooney should have his wages docked ,,,i reckon it was his fault it went pear shaped,,but well done everyone else, and the crowd was fantastic,,,

Re: end of the line

rooney was sent off quite rightly so for being a p*llock ,for not being able to control his temper and thinkin he was the be all and end all, but in fair play he was also left up front on his own so no wonder his frusteration came thru but sven did decide the formation so all the lads could do was obey

As someone mentioned above. The result was gutwrenching. For me it has happened twice now within a week. First, Australia with the penalty in the last second of the match. Second, taking solace in the fact that England was still there, I had to watch this match and see a similar kind of result again. I know how you feel. :engsmil:

what is it with man utd players? beckham got sent off against argies in 98,phil neville gave away a stupid penalty against romania in euro 2000,rooney yesterday and as for ronaldo and heinzes behaviour, says it all about the club.

Re: end of the line

it showed on the late footy programme a clip of ronaldo saying he was rooney's friend....yeah right..... I know he wants to leave utd to go to real madrid... all I can say is.......

GO AS FAST AS YOU CAN

Australia were robbed Terry, I watched in disbelief when the ref awarded that penalty.

Who thinks Ronaldo might not have a friendly welcome back to United when the season starts? Ferdinand and Rooney are two people who might not take so nicely to pretty boys face showing up in the changing room.

What wound me up most about Ronaldo was that wink when Rooney was sent off - I think it proved he knew that Rooney shouldn't have been sent off.

Re: end of the line

The fact is Gayle it was a sending off, it was a malicious stamp, although i believe Carvalho may have over reacted it was still wrong and deserved to go. However do ou think he would have been sent off if Ronaldo didn't come and give the ref all that and led to Rooney pushing him? I wouldn't have thought so. I can't see Ronaldo playing for United again...

Re: end of the line

I don't think it was a malicious stamp, certainly a yellow card for the stamp but not red. Think it was Ronaldo's bad gamesmanship that contributed to the red.

How's everyone head this afternoon ??? LOL

Well i was mega peed off soon as match finished the flags got pulled down so showed my mood after. As for the portugal he whom shall not be named well he's gonna have a good season if he's still at man u f-ing git is gonna have to watch it not only from fans but from wazzer himself!!!

As for wazzer well frustration took over really & least has reduced the future footy sprogs by a bit LOL!! Sven well voodoo doll what the F**k did he bring walcott for poor lad must be utterly confused as to whether he could of played & made the difference or whether not, he gambled so much on Rooney & yet i can understand the frustration as he's not a lone striker he needs to be fed the balls to knock in & that formation did us no justice at all - stick to what we know & play best the thowd 4-4-2 !!

Hargreaves was our rock & best player for me man of the match ironically was only one to be on scorecard for pens - mmmmmmmmm been well practiced at penalities - my bottom!! England have never faired well with penalties so why would it be any different?? we should of got walcott on certainly in extra time & go for broke:( least it would of justified svens taking him.

Ah well another 4 years of more hurt!

Becks has quit as England captain but still wishes to still play for them.

what    guess you mean captain :) - my vote is for john terry to be captain next....but will probably end up being gary neville for a few years

Rooney was stupid for his stamp but at the end of the day thats what makes him such a good player that he wears his heart on his sleve, the stupidiy of playing rooney as a lone front man showed...his game is all about dropping deep into the hole off the defense and turning and running at players. Sven - we havent lost many competetive matches under his guidence but the style of football he plays is very boring and calm which imo does noit suit englands players

Crap once again from england...but chin up league football is coming to accy very soon :engsmil:

I've just seen on Sky,Rooney was not sent off for the stamp stupid as it was,but the push on the C.Ronaldo.Fergie should show C.Ronaldo the door for the head butt on Rooney's back of head.Which was plain to see, right in front of camera's,though it's not showing alot of it on re-runs or in the press coverage.

Sven was on this morning saying that we shouldn't blame Rooney for the defeat, I for one don't in fact we played with more spirit after Rooney was sent off - the fault for the entire farce lies with Erikson himself for a variety of reasons not least the fact that he didn't really give a damn if we won or not. I think the FA were wrong to let him take us to this tournament, once it was known he was going he should have gone there and then.

Well said Accymad,Steve McLaren should have took over straight away.I think he only played the 4-5-1 system to accommodate David Beckham.Who I don't blame for our demise but I thought was only a patch of his usual self. The main 3 players who I think can still hold thier heads high are Ashley Cole,Joe Cole and the boy himself Wayne Rooney. The later playing well through a stupid system to the best of his ability, which itself must have been highly frustrating.Like you Accymad I believe the sole blame lies with Sven.....
