Re: Rovers v Burnley
Nice one Mancie, wasn't there for that match but was there when we played the Dingles in 1960 on our way on the final, think the gate that night was 58,000, gates were closed 30 minutes before the kick off, won 2-0 I think after extra time, the Rovers came from 3-0 down at the Turf in the first game, I was there for that one too:D
|
Re: Rovers v Burnley
I might just get myself a Rovers Shirt and come to that one.

Saw a few City and United shirts, but that goes with the territory. Didn't see any other colours though. Wonder where the others were?
|
Re: Rovers v Burnley
Heard a rumour that some Rovers fans who bought cut price season tickets for the Darwen End and may have to give up thier seats for Burnley supporters! :D .
Burnley are set be allocated around 6,000 tickets for Ewood, but Rovers will only get about 2,500 for Burnley, beacause half the away end at Turf Moor is held by Burnley season ticket holders! :D |
Re: Rovers v Burnley
Quote:
They knew when they bought them that they had to give them up for the big 4 teams :D Is it not 7,000 ? ;) |

yet police advise is fans CAN be housed in the same stand at turf moor,so rovers fans get only 2,200.BURNLEY 16300 SEASON TICKET HOLDERS so thats around 30% chance of season ticket holders getting away ticket.ROVERS 19,000 SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ,so maybe 10% chance of season ticket holders going to turf moor..so clearly one rule for one and one rule for another...believe me we are very fuming :mad::mad: |
Re: Rovers v Burnley
Dont think the decision at Rovers was based on Police Advice but purely on commercial Grounds. Police advise was taken with regards to kick off times though! As it no doubt will be for the return at Turf Moor. No way will that end up being a Saturday 3pm kick off as it is still listed as! Its certainly bad news for Rovers fans at the Turf though...i'll be trying to get a ticket but it will certainly be a lottery!

Re: Rovers v Burnley
its going to be a long hard season for rovers and the clampits as well.
|
Re: Rovers v Burnley
but Rovers fans are mostly made up of women.. slags, tranvestites, and drunken,pis!heads..so you can't blame the East Lancs Police for not wanting them to bring down the good name of Burnley.
|
Re: Rovers v Burnley
played 3 games ... lost 1 .. WON 2 ... the gods of east lancs have done it again ..:D:D:D

Re: Rovers v Burnley
theres no way on this earth that the cricket field stand will house us and them when we play at turf poor !!
they are being rehoused in other parts of the ground, just like at rovers !! by the way, good start, enjoy it whilst it lasts !!!...:rolleyes: |
Re: Rovers v Burnley
Quote:
As far as I know the season tickets were not sold on the proviso of having to move for any game. The entrances are on opposite sides of the ground and the segration section is quite a few rows. In reality the home fans in there are no nearer the away fans than the lower longside was to the corner of the cricket field stand. It will really depend on the police pressure  |
Re: Rovers v Burnley
Seems there is now some back tracking going on regarding the Darwen end and Burnley fans will have a reduced allocation of about 3,000 in the Jack Walker. Allegedly in a tit for tat move to make the allocations at both grounds similar.

Not long until we welcome the Dingles to Ewood now. Bring it on!
We've played them four times in my life - won three, drawn one. Scored nine and conceded a solitary goal. Keep up the good work Rovers! |

I'm used to them infesting the Rovers forums', it's OK - they suffer from an inferior complex! Not surprising though, they've been in our shadows for over 20 years.

Re: Rovers v Burnley
just returned from holiday to see the offical allocation of away tickets and i think it is fair.
reports of rovers getting 2100 and burnley getting 7,000 were wrong.thank god. Rovers people getting 2400 tickets at burnley, odds of rovers season tickets holder going burnley away is 8-1.. Burnley getting 3,000 at blackburn away, odds of burnley seasons ticket holder getting ticket to ewood is 6-1. they get less but percentage, better, yes is fair..simples i am typing in croatain accent because ive just got back from there. havla (thanks you) :thankya: |

Re: Rovers v Burnley
According to certain football messege boards, accrington is where hundreds of burnley fans (a lot from burnley) are going to get ****ed all day and watch the game in pubs(stanley/calder etc ) and then cause some aggro..i suppose at the reverse fixture it maybe the same with blackburn not getting away at burnley tickets and coming over .. what i mean is maybe avoid accy centre after rovers v burnley game :)

Re: Rovers v Burnley
Details announced today for tickets and coach travel. Coaches leave Turf Moor at 9.15 am !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Why don't they just let the mindless morons from both clubs arrange a big punch up somewhere remote and where no damage to property can be done ( middle of Darwen ? ) , and treat the remainder ( the majority ) of fans from both clubs like civilised human beings :( |

Just goes to show the desperacy ..... they have to rely on the clarets to sell their shirts
|
Re: Rovers v Burnley
old news .. but..why stop the fans from travelling to a game in their own cars etc for fear of trouble, yet decide to sell stupid and inappropriate out of date shirts that will only help stir up more animosity !!
excellent thinking rovers !!! NOT !!!....same old rovers, money money money !! no wonder i gave up going !! |

Personally I think the fact they have dragged up after all this time makes it more hilarious than offensive. A few days after the original match might have been better timing :) |

Looks like 1-1 in the looking stupid stakes to me. A couple of clowns playing fancy dress and an official club shop taking 8 years to come up with a t-shirt. Next own goal loses :)
