Didn't invade the pitch but I had a flat cap..............with a scholl badge on it.................Paid sixpence and was carried from the back of the stands on the riverside to the front over the heads of the adults to the benches round the pitch.

Nice one Mancie, wasn't there for that match but was there when we played the Dingles in 1960 on our way on the final, think the gate that night was 58,000, gates were closed 30 minutes before the kick off, won 2-0 I think after extra time, the Rovers came from 3-0 down at the Turf in the first game, I was there for that one too:D

Heard a rumour that some Rovers fans who bought cut price season tickets for the Darwen End and may have to give up thier seats for Burnley supporters! :D .
Burnley are set be allocated around 6,000 tickets for Ewood, but Rovers will only get about 2,500 for Burnley, beacause half the away end at Turf Moor is held by Burnley season ticket holders! :D

we are fuming.rival fans CANNOT be in housed in the same stand at ewood due to police advice.so burnley get 6,000 (segragation means 6,000) in darwen end on october 18th.
yet police advise is fans CAN be housed in the same stand at turf moor,so rovers fans get only 2,200.BURNLEY 16300 SEASON TICKET HOLDERS so thats around 30% chance of season ticket holders getting away ticket.ROVERS 19,000 SEASON TICKET HOLDERS ,so maybe 10% chance of season ticket holders going to turf moor..so clearly one rule for one and one rule for another...believe me we are very fuming :mad::mad:

Dont think the decision at Rovers was based on Police Advice but purely on commercial Grounds. Police advise was taken with regards to kick off times though! As it no doubt will be for the return at Turf Moor. No way will that end up being a Saturday 3pm kick off as it is still listed as! Its certainly bad news for Rovers fans at the Turf though...i'll be trying to get a ticket but it will certainly be a lottery!

Best Regards - Taggy

As far as I know the season tickets were not sold on the proviso of having to move for any game. The entrances are on opposite sides of the ground and the segration section is quite a few rows. In reality the home fans in there are no nearer the away fans than the lower longside was to the corner of the cricket field stand.

It will really depend on the police pressure

Seems there is now some back tracking going on regarding the Darwen end and Burnley fans will have a reduced allocation of about 3,000 in the Jack Walker. Allegedly in a tit for tat move to make the allocations at both grounds similar.

Now confirmed officially as 3,000 away tickets for October and 2,400 away tickets for the return game. Can only be booked with coach travel, and rumour is that the actual tickets will only be given out on the coaches

just returned from holiday to see the offical allocation of away tickets and i think it is fair.
reports of rovers getting 2100 and burnley getting 7,000 were wrong.thank god.
Rovers people getting 2400 tickets at burnley, odds of rovers season tickets holder going burnley away is 8-1..
Burnley getting 3,000 at blackburn away, odds of burnley seasons ticket holder getting ticket to ewood is 6-1.
they get less but percentage,better,yes

is fair..simples

I think thats the issue. If a local t-shirt shop or some fanzine had started selling the t-shirt it wouldn't have made the news, the fact that it's been done as official merchandise has created the storm.

Personally I think the fact they have dragged up after all this time makes it more hilarious than offensive. A few days after the original match might have been better timing :)

In comparison with the likes of Arsenal Spurs Chealski, I think Rovers do quite well with the fans, they have the cheapest season tickets and we don't have to give them away for free:rolleyes: but as for T-Shirts I still think The Plane is the best:D

Strange, the message boards say they have got tickets for various parts of the ground, not just the FJ stand. Seems you don't read the threads you post on properly :D

Looks like 1-1 in the looking stupid stakes to me. A couple of clowns playing fancy dress and an official club shop taking 8 years to come up with a t-shirt. Next own goal loses :)
