thank god it's saturday

Just about to watch United in Mexico.. United team will be made up of at least 6 home grown Lanc's lads and in the coming season we could put out a first team of 8 local lads.. shame on Rovers and such who have only 2 first team local players in the squad.. local team and local supporters?.. bollocks! :D

Re: thank god it's saturday

Forgot to add Liverpool, Chelsea, Arsenal, Bolton, Villa, Everton, Wigan, goes on ..all the talk about English Prem teams not having young english lads in the squad does not apply to United.. you lot sort yerselves out.

We got done... but we have at least 6 homegrown young players that could play in the prem next season.. there is no other prem club that can do that..if we ain't got the dosh to buy the best then at least we have some young "local" talent comimg up.. and let's not forget we won the title in 96.. "with kids" who where not to far from Accy.. our srtike force looks good and expect to be up there for the title this season.. I've got United banged on to win it!

They might be playing in Mexico Mancie but they sure as hell won't be plying in the Premier league:p

As for the title, unless they sign some more players they won't be in the top two:D

You may not agree with him all the time, but he makes a valid point about getting young local lads through. Sadly though when the season gets into full swing & the pressure is on for results, I don't think you'll be seeing much of the local young talent unless they are exceptional.

Aye Cashy you're right there, I come from Liverpool originally so as I grew up they were always first choice, but at the games the amount of "foreign accents" was unbelievable & when you speak to proper "Mancs" :D they all hate united & support City.

Now that you've got this Sheik in charge since September 2008, I can see City going the same way as the locals will no doubt get fed up of all these "Nouvea Mancs" who jump aboard expecting great things from "their Club" now it's being bank rolled & can now compete in the big boys money stakes.

Unfortunately "English" Premier league football ............. isn't, might as well call it European football.

I know, the Mancs I've met in my time (believe me, I don't make a habit of it :D) Have all supported City.

You would not believe the number of times I've had people wearing Utd colours come up to me whilst I've been in Market St/Piccadilly and ask, "Which way to the football ground?" I usually direct 'em to the Bury tram (well, they didn't say which football ground, did they?). ;)

Apologies Jays, it's obviously one I've missed. Though we are both of the same opinion, I would therefore assume many others have a similar attitude. Unfortunately it doesn't get carried over into big boys sports due to money considerations, which then causes a negative impact on our National aspirations.

Oh yes they will be playing in the Prem this season.. like you say United have not made any big signings.. could be lack of cash or the top players would rather go to City and such.. maybe our young English/British lads won't have the same effect as yer Beckham, Nevilles, Scholes but you never know.
I remember someone called Hanson saying "you can't win anything with kids".. Jaysay.. :D

That was then and will never happen again. Remember Fred Dawn the United Fanatic Bookie who once paid out on United wining the Title only for the Gooners to come from 12 points behind in 1998, well he was on Northwest tonight last week because he's retiring, his word were "as much as it hurts me to say it United won't be in the top two this season, I expect the title to go to either Chelski or City" bookies are rarely wrong, and if last season was anything to go by United were left lacking up front as they relied too much on Rooney

I expect the title to go to City or Chelsea .. but if it goes to United I don't reckon people like you to come on this forum and show any respect.. this is were it ends.. you and the rest of the skysport ****head team show no respect for local team.with local lads . that will entertian you ******* for the next few months.

Re: thank god it's saturday

for the record Mancie, the Pool, also known as scouse gits to you foolish plastic mancs, have 13 English lads in our side compared to your 18.

So we could also put out a all English team, unfortunately due to the evolution of the Premier League and Tv rights this has encouraged foreign player into the UK.

When we last won the league, we did it with, 12 English Lads, 4 Scottish lads, 4 Republic of Ireland lads, 1 rather talented Welsh lad,1 Israeli, 1 Dane and 1 Zimbabwean lad. Squad size 25 so almost 50% English

When Manchester United last won the title, well to be fair you had 22 English lads out of a squad size of 47. But 8 of those did not make one league appearance, so you only had 14 Engligh lads in reality.... not very good really. lets not forget we scored more goal than you in that season as well.

Now when abouts in Manchester are you from.... I am from Norris Green in Liverpool and have watched them since before I could walk. Even to the point of spending a lot of time on the Kop. What about you....

Hello Mancie is anyone at home, have you been on a desert island for the last few weeks, every premier league team are limited to 25 players this season of which 8 have to be home grown:p:p:p:p not just the Mancs
