Good riddance to him i say.He has done nothing but gotten rid of all the decent players that said their piece.Anybody disagreeing with Souness was sent packing. How are top flight players supposed to respect him for that?

Nice report from Skysports

Blackburn Rovers caretaker manager Tony Parkes has launched an attack on former boss Graeme Souness.

Parkes, in temporary charge of Rovers for the sixth time, sees a bright future for the club without Souness.

"Newcastle need a Graeme Souness. I don't think we need Graeme now," he said. "I don't think he could have done any better. It's not a good time for him to go, but if anything this week has been like a breath of fresh air," he added.

The 55-year-old was demoted to reserve team coach by Souness before he joined Newcastle and now believes the club need a young manager.

"We need a young, up-and-coming manager, somebody with modern ideas and a different way of thinking. Somebody with a lower profile," he explained.

Wales manager Mark Hughes has been strongly linked with a move to Ewood Park and Parkes has said he would welcome the appointment. "If it's Mark Hughes, we'll welcome him with open arms," said the long-serving Parkes.

But remember Mark dont turn your back!!!!!!!!!!

Would welcome Mark Hughes with open arms as well.Souness has had his time and it was not a good one.See how a bad manager can take a good club down. What we need is a manager that is willing to bring on the youth.Get that perfect mix of youth and experience.Somebody who can bring us back to the top half of the table where we belong.Somebody who the players respect

How many inflatable sheep will opposition supporters take to Rovers?

Re: Souness resigns.

Souness took Rovers out of Division One, won the league cup and took them into Europe - I would hardly say that was not a good time. The problem now is that Rovers fans think that Rovers are one of the top clubs....sorry but they aren't - they may have bought the title once upon a time but lets face it if they got relegated this season they would hardly be spoken of as "fallen giants". So I'd say that Souness did OK for the club all things considered.
