The reason Man Utd fans are spread far and wide can be laid at the door of Thatcherism. Man Utd fans, not wanting a life on the dole being unable to afford to watch thier heroes, heeded Maggie and Tebbit's advice and got on their bikes to look for work.

I left this area within 1 year of completing my apprenticeship - real one, not one of today's apologies, and worked away for some 50 years - why? because I saw that engineering was dying in East Lancashire and within a short time I did find that the grass was greener, and I was never
unemployed.
I did get to watch La Creme at away matches because you could usually get tickets, not like at Old Trafford where it was always a full house.

Have you ever had full houses at Deadwood?:p:D

I wonder if jaysay and his plastic Scouser friends could enlighten us as to which team has won the premiership for the 20th time, with four games still to play?

Clue: It's not Blackburn Rovers or Liverpool.

Oh, My lads.
You should've seen us coming,
fastest team in the league,
just to see us running,
all the lads and lasses,
with smiles upon their faces,
walking down the Warwick Road...
To see Matt Busby's Aces"
