Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Well, a much better week than I expected. Thought we were going to lose three and getting stuffed in one but like everything else recently it didn’t turn out as I expected. A good win against Olympiakos and against the Hammers – feared the worst when I saw the central defenders. City, I don’t think they took it easy against us, just the rub of the green went for us, I would not have been surprised to see them get at least six. Hopefully we won’t make the top six now – sod the Europa, too many games and we would lose money having to cut the summer tour in half.
Don’t have any great hope that Moyes will go before the start of next season, but will they trust him with a reputed £200M war chest? Only time will tell. So come on the Blues (either one), as long as they keep the scousers in the wilderness for yet another season. |

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
Have to agree that the scousers played like champions ... lots of confidence on that team ... and the atmosphere at Anfield was fantastic ... the title is so close, they can feel it. And the owners, even tho' they are Yanks, are sports-minded. They did a great job with the Red Sox. Arsenal seem to be out of it. And if it's a choice among Chelsea, City, and Liverpool, I'd prefer the title go to Fenway Sports rather than Russian dirty money, or Arab petrobucks.
Also be good if Gerrard could be on a title winning team. It would be a bummer if he ended up like Fergie Jenkins, all-star pitcher, three time Cy Young winner, Hall of Famer, who never came close to winning a World Series. And loyal to his team. Unfortunately his team was the hapless Chicago Cubs, whom I continue to support even though they have as much chance of success as England has;) |

Danny Welbeck - what a chance.

My attempts to emulate Cassandra have failed as badly as La Crème have this season. Thought we would have been in for a drubbing against Bayern but we live on and hope springs eternal (I wish).
So everything I have expected over the last few games has been turned around. In the hope that it continues I am thinking the Geordies can do for us tomorrow, we will see. Come on you Blues!!!!! |
Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles

Re: Mancie's Thread - The Road to the Titles
We had the opportunity to win it in the first half and didn’t take the chances – so an era comes to an end, 17 consecutive years in the Champion’s League, even the NN will find it difficult to match that no matter how much money they throw at it, never mind the scousers – how durable is their current bubble, can they ever win the league again or can they at least maintain a top four position?
I am just hoping we don’t finish in 5th or 6th place – anything but that, but at the least they should try and finish the season on a high even if that does mean the purgatory of the Europa League, just hope that isn’t so Waiting with interest to see what develops now – New manager? New players? Departing players, only time will tell as it will for the rebirth of the scousers. |
