Re: Sports Personality 2008

I think the thing that pleased me most was that young kid from the paralympics, swimming double gold medalist, Elle Simmons won the young sports personality of the year.

Can't agree enough Jaysay.

Back to Chris Hoy, it looks like the Scottish votes won it for him. He is a hero to rival William Wallaced up here. I personally think Adlington should have won.

But are we as patriotic. No!!!

It's a fact, I've lived in Scotland for years and the patriotcism up here doesn't compare.

It doesn't matter how good they are, as long as they're Scottish, Irish or Welsh they will get votes.

MacDonald brothers anyone.

Me too. Why couldn't there be an overall winner? Maybe she would have won that. She stood out a mile...

Can still recall her beaming face when she won.

Just found out Ellie has received the MBE.
Not a fan of the honours thing, but If they are going to be given out, she deserves it. Youngest ever recipient. Well done girl!
