Re: Rock n Roll kings
no contest i will tell you why
didnt like the pistols i was a" bootboy" they could hardly be described as r&roll demi gods oasis were alright during the whats the story morning glory era .and after that they lost the plot the verve were far superiour..and theres something i find offensive about that liam one ,if he came leering @ me ,the way he does the press i'd stick one or two on him!!! so that leaves the beatles music great timeless ..still here after all these years .and will be still around when the two aformentioned bands have long gone !! |
Re: Rock n Roll kings
im also a great fan of the verve and richard ashcroft but just a question iv been asking verve 'fans'; would you still think the verve were as great if bitter sweet symphony wasnt released?

Re: Rock n Roll kings
yea man one tune doesnt make the band, i saw the verve at slane castle and they were awesome , btw also supporting were the manics, and robbie williams which goes to show how big they were at that time .its sad because not long after they split , back to the bitter sweet symphony it was a good tune for them to realease because it got them noticed by the totp crew you know the teeny boppers that worship anything junk that simon cowel or waterman or walsh churn out, imho these fellas are ruining the british music scene, butthats beside the point .have a listen to urban hymn and the northern soul cd and i bet you will find a better tune than bitter sweet

Re: Rock n Roll kings
nah man lucky man is by far my favourite verve tune - but on the wider scale of the whole music 'scene', i think bitter sweet syphony is by far the best song ever written.
history is a crackin tune though. cant wait for Ashcroft's new album in January - its already made my 2006! |
Re: Rock n Roll kings
the beatles first and foremost .....each beatle was independantly skilled and didnt need the rest to create.......plus they had the most variety of tunes
which is very important in music.......twas ironic that lennon sang about a workin class hero when he was educated at a grammar school but still the music was good .....as for the pistols i wouldnt *iss on them....the only reason they got known is through their anarchistic behavouir and shocking temprement which hyped up thier publicity, (no big deal nowadays) people fell for it and the rest is history.....oasis are next best ....(in the three) and did i hear anyone knocking our clifford? ...shame on those sheep who do.. he has been the only artist in the entire world to stick to his word and not become a sex obsessed coke sniffing hypocrite (or baghead) ....and just because he kept his vow you knock him .......he did say after all he would be a batchelor boy until his dying day! nuff said |
Re: Rock n Roll kings
