Re: Best Guitarist ever?

Kurt Cobain was not a great guitarist at all.
He could write a great tune don't get me wrong - I love the pre-nevermind stuff - but a great musician? Nah.

Yup, he was born in Hampstead.
Very skilled guitarist but the Use Your Illusion stuff wrecked it for me; too many songs with 14 guitar solos.

I like Velvet Revolver though.

Re: Best Guitarist ever?

Looks like it depends on which bio you read.

I remember being told by a mate who lived in one of the pottery towns (possible Newcastle or Stoke) when Appetite came out that Slash was from Stoke, just took it that he was born there.

Re: Best Guitarist ever?

Suppose it may be down to urban myth as far as the internet is concerned.
Doesn't matter where he was born anyway; he's a brilliant guitarist.

Actually just had another flash of mediocrity, :-) Robert Ian McNabb of the Icicle Works.
Also the late John McGeoch of Magazine, Siouxsie & Pil.
