BBC Proms on BBC (TV) 4 - Jamie Cullum with an orchestra backing, and a programme on swing follows. Who'd a thowt it my TV is on tonight (rare)

After watching for 20 minutes I conclude that the orchestra just aren't 'hip' - he would be better without them - he is a bar pianist really

Just spending a quiet Sunday morning with my favourite soul compilation of all time...
Ace Records ...this is a milllion miles away from Motown. Raw, deep down soul straight from the heart...rock-solid brass sections, fatback drummers, mournful guitars, testifying vocalists, this is the real deal! I don't usually pay much attention to reviews, but when the bloke from Mojo magazine called this the best compilation of all time, he was right! Unreservedly recommended to every vintage music lover on here!
