could be Alex Hay striker ex Tranmere.
we (Morecambe) had him on loan a couple of years ago and he scored 4 in a Trophy match against a team from much lower down but was struggling when he played in Conference games and didnt score any more.

As far as I know he's a very proven goalscorer at this level in recent times....

Official website states that David Brown has signed a two year contract, I hope that this isn't the mystery striker we have been after.

Well, we do have one new signing. This Bill Shakespeare feller sounds quite good. Didn't he play for Stratford United?
