Re: Prendergast

Players still on holiday ? They have just had six weeks holiday, they are presumably told when pre-season training starts, can they not arrange their holidays to coincide with the six weeks off that they have. It seems strange that their holidays are arranged for the time that they are supposed to return to work. It wouldn't be allowed at most work places.

Thing is Dan has to stumble out of his front door to get to training. I have to travel from Garstang and I also have another job. I am no longer a lazy student!!!!

According to official site Rory is training and spending pre-season with Blackpool with a view to signing for them.

Re: Prendergast

So a good goalkeeper wanted by the club is too expensive (Presumably we are looking for a good goalie we want thats cheap then?)

And the best winger in the league (who lots of people keep telling us loves stanley and wont leave?) is off to the seaside.

Any good news...

Oh yeagh.. nearly forgot... Seakespeare at stanley... so not all bad ... ahem!

From the BBC website

Prendergast eyes Blackpool move

Accrington Stanley winger Rory Prendergast, 27, is to join Blackpool for pre-season training with a view to a permanent move to Bloomfield Road.
Chairman Eric Whalley told Stanley's website: "Although he's a good player we'll never stand in the way of someone who wants to further their career."

"Rory has made no secret of his desire to play in the Football League and Blackpool is a big club."

Prendergast has started 56 Conference games for Stanley in two years.

He attracted interest from Bristol Rovers last season.

Seems I was right after all!

Re: Prendergast

Whilst I wouldn't argue that Prendergast is a good crosser of the ball on his day, for me he's very inconsistant. I acknowledge that no player at Conference level is ever 100% consistant, but there were too many games last season when Prendergast was like a ghost.

Alot depends on which side of Prendergast he decides to show Blackpool as to whether he makes it there or not. I personally don't think he's good enough to play league football week-in and week-out, but that's just my opinion.
Of course, even if he doesn't make the grade with Colin Hendry, whether Coley takes him back is another matter.

He's wanted a crack at the Football League for a season or two, so nows a chance for him to prove what he can do. I believe the club is right not to stand in his way, afterall, who wants a player playing for you who's not 100% committed?
