Why the angry post? I'd sooner be a waster from affluent Altrincham than a self grief wallowing plastic scouser. There was no need for you to take that sort of stance, no wonder no one likes you.

Growing Up?

I asked a very straight question at the start of this thread about Saturdays game and Ian Craney and all you get is drivel such as :

Ian Craney is a red is a red
Ian Craney is a red
He Hates Alty

Or

wasters from Alty etc etc

Can I ask why?

It's called a sense of humour mate - and I can't see Ian singing his heart out on that photo, just having a brew and a natter as far as I can see :)

Well, to answer your question, no, I don't think he will go before the end of the season, especially considering that Coley has already knocked back Crewe and Rotheram enquires

There's been all different kinds of responses, its our forum, we can say what we like pleasant or unpleasant! You'll find we will have forgotten about Alty as soon as the 3 points are bagged & the goals for tally has been improved

On Stanley On

Sell on clause

At a recent Altrincham fans' forum, the manager Graham Heathcote explained that there is indeed a 50% sell on clause written into the Ian Craney transfer deal. He knows because he wrote it in. Eric Whalley turned down the Rotherham money because "half it it would go to Altrincham".

Ian is a classic example of how the influx of foreign players is restricting the development of homegrown talent. I'm sure fifteen years ago he would have been on the books of a top flight team by now.

A couple of our more quick-witted correspondents have picked up on this one (thanks for the laugh, lads) , but you make a very significant point.

I share your concern, Resting Collier, that our own backyard is being neglected. I believe that it's all to do with the dying art of scouting.

My old friend Eric Harrison has spent half a lifetime getting up early and watching hundreds of juvenile geniuses (according to their dads !) and using his diplomacy to reject 99.8 percent of them whilst finding that one absolute diamond . . . and Eric's found several of these gems for Man U in his many years of devotion to the art of football.
Where are the new Erics ? Too much like hard work , isn't it ? Much easier to take on hundreds of new players for peanuts and toss most of them aside.
Cynical, moi ?
