Is there any news regarding the chances of the game being postponed? Meant to be snow showers up and down coutry tonight! Anyone from southport got any news?

Suppose the early coach including me will be on the beach in southport before we hear any news :o :o :o

I'd have thought that the chances of the game being on are quite slim. It hasn't got above freezing today and all the ground has been deeply frozen for over 24 hours. With more low temperatures forecast for tonight and tomorrow, I can't see the game being on.

Normally it's slightly warmer on the coast than inland, but Blackpool's game was called off last night and Southport is only just down the road.

according to the fishy site their is going to an early pitch inspection at 10am with the results posted on their so fingers crossed!!!

Tonights game against Accrington Stanley is in doubt due to the pitch still being frozen from the hard frost. Overnight snow and rain is causing water to lie on the surface and cannot drain away.

There was a pitch inspection at 10.00am, and the match referee has asked for a further inspection at 1.00pm

I may have been lied too. Baldy said the first coach was 7.28am.

The first coach was due to leave at 11am. At least that's what it says on the travel thread.

baldy isn't quite all there. coaches are 11am and 4pm. I can see the 11am coach now so running a few minutes late.

Southport fans on their forum yesterday were praying for the match to be off! Hoping to get new players in January.

LATEST NEWS - Southport v Accrington Stanley
Tonight's match referee will carry out third pitch inspection at 4.30pm ahead of this evening's game. Earlier inspections were carried out at 10am and 1pm but no decision could be made as to whether the pitch will be suitable for tonight.
