I listened to the updates and penalty shoot-out on the Bee.

I must say, I'm slightly relieved we've been knocked out. I wouldn't want us to be in a position where we are having to play catch-up on games because of postponements due to the Trophy.

We've got the league to concentrate on winning now. Much more important.:Banane25:

Def in favour of concentrating on the league. As for a chatty someone could have set up an invite only one in accychat and you could have bantered away.

Historically, Worksop have done well against Stanley.

Tonight's result should be no great surprise.

So "Good Luck" to Worksop in the FA trophy and in their ambition to reach the Conference .

Meanwhile, Stanley have bigger fish to fry on Saturday in a match which deserves our total attention and support.

I can't wait !

Well, that was an entertaining evening...

Not necessarily for the football on the pitch, but entertaining nonetheless. I'm with Kipax on the performance. Not great. Over the two legs, I don't think we deserved to progress.

Penalties is always harsh though.

Many thanks to everyone who had good things to say about the coverage. We HAD to extend to 11!!! And Rob Elliot definitely punched the floor in a cartoon baddie style. I assure you.

I know it isn't the same as being there, but hopefully those of you who listened got some benefit. And by the way, constructive criticism is always welcome.

having been one of the few who went to worksop tonight, I have to say, the result was a forgone conclusion, Stanley were just not at the races. IMHO too much showboating coz we are top of the Conference, my solution K.I.S.S. or keep it simple stupid. Lets get back to basics. Tonight was a horrible night for weather, wind blowing all over the place, yet we insisted on keeping the ball in the air. It should have been played on the ground and when we did play it on the ground, Ian Craney, Gary Roberts David Brown and Rommy were all loosing the ball. Worksop wanted it more than us and it showed. Good Luck to them in the future rounds. Officials were ******* again, couldn't identify offside if it hit them in the face. and some of the fouls by both sides were a nonsense. Nothing tackles yet it was a foul, didnt allow advantage, which both teams had at one point or another. Still as others have said, lets concentrate on the league, and lets face it, the last time we lost was to Worcester from Conference North in the FA cup and then went on a unbeaten stint of 17 games. Lets hope the same happens after tonight.

I hope the drop in quality isn't the result of losing Barry in midfield. I wonder what it's done for the morale of the squad?

To be honest I'm not that worried about being knocked out of the Trophy, but the poor performances are a real concern. All this, "let's concentrate on the league" talk, may sound ok now, but what happens if we play like that again on Saturday and Dagenham give us a beating? It's how we bounce back from a couple of poor performances and a defeat that interests me now.

Rubbish - last time we played them we beat them 4-1 and now we are top of the Conference. History does not matter. Last night Stanley were a disgrace. They showed no commitment or effort. If we continue to play like this then we have no chance. That's two games against Worksop and both times we were rubbish. Last night we only scored because Gary Roberts palmed the ball to Craney - it was blatant had ball. Apart from that their keeper didn't have a save to make until the penalty shoot-out when Craney started dancing up to the ball to take his kick and Danny Ventre took two steps and tapped the ball to the keeper. We will have to pick up dramatically to do anything on Saturday, let's hope that this is a wake up call and that they players respond. I think that selling Barry has upset the balance of the team which has had a settled look about it all season. Now we have to chop and change to get the balance back. Not the ideal time of the season to be doing this.

I'm not particularly bothered about being out of the Trophy but agree that the poor performance is a worry. Having said that I don't doubt that the lads will bounce back on Saturday and in all honesty we can do without the extra games a longer run in the cup would have meant.

It will need to be a BIG bounce back. Time will tell, but I hope so.
