Chicken and egg though mate isn't it. I read Eric moaning in the local rags a few months ago asking if the people of Accrington 'really want a league team' due to poor attendances. That bloody roof must be the biggest Google Page Ranking disaster in history. Anyone would think they are trying to organsise a 3 tier cantilever stand, its dragged on for about 2 years now. More than working as a shelter im eager to get it on because of the improvement it will make to the atmosphere. It will stop all the songs evaporating into the cold night sky and instead create a clayton ednd cauldron of noise. Ragggggggghhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!

Anyway, positive, positive, CHAMPIONS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are football league, say we are football league.

I cant understand what EW is going on about 2000 fans and all that, Down the road Bury get smaller attendances and Rochdale dont get to many either !!! but they cut their cloth accordingly. The roof needs to be put up to keep existing fans, the last thing we need is fans going elseware, the club need to remember the fans pay the money they are at least entitled to decent toilets and a roof to keep them dry, this is basic stuff and if the club cant get this right what chance do we stand.

Raising standards on and off the pitch go hand in hand.

Give us a green to the football league. :engsmil:

Over half the ground is covered. Seating and standing. Lets not get carried away. we all want a roof for the clayton end but to suggest people will support another club just because there isn't covering over a certain part is a bit OTT

Re: Roof and future plans for the stadium!!

I think one or two people are trying to let us in slowly to the reality that we may not get a roof this year. I heard on the radio this morning that ASFC are before HBC tonight with a view to planning permission. It was said by our CE - RH, that even if we dont win promotion this year they will probably go ahead with their plans for a first aid room, toilets, two extra turnstiles and a police control room, as we will need them sooner or later anyway.

I sincerely hope that the roof is incorporated into those plans and their omission from the statement was purely oversight.

The issue of a roof has gone on for FAR TOO LONG. Kipax mentioned that more than half the ground is covered, maybe, I do not wish to sit, most people do not wish to sit. Also the Whinney Hill is too small, too low, and too many olde worlde people who wanna get as far away from shoute swearee people like me, or the drummer.

We wanna be dry, we wanna be loud. We will be both when the roof is in place. Two seasons ago, after promotion to the conference yielded no roof, I got into the habit of not going to a match if the weather was even slightly off. It is an easy habit to lose (going to every match) and we dont have enough fans to start losing some again. We need to keep the ones we have before we start worrying about attracting new fans. Many people have commented previously about whether they can believe what the club tell them as regards future developments - can you imagine the outcry if it is not done in the current round of development?

ps Ignore Kipax if he sides with not getting a roof - he will be wetter with raindrops dripping on his touchline hugging bonce if the roof hangs over far enough ;)

Who hasn't got the guts to say anything when taking karma points? It doesn't worry me anyway. You can take them all if you want.

The week is up Rob. The silence is deafening. Once more dissapointing, no result, cannot blame the fans for feeling let down AGAIN.
