Re: Roof and future plans for the stadium!!
Over half the ground is covered. Seating and standing. Lets not get carried away. we all want a roof for the clayton end but to suggest people will support another club just because there isn't covering over a certain part is a bit OTT

Re: Roof and future plans for the stadium!!
I think one or two people are trying to let us in slowly to the reality that we may not get a roof this year. I heard on the radio this morning that ASFC are before HBC tonight with a view to planning permission. It was said by our CE - RH, that even if we dont win promotion this year they will probably go ahead with their plans for a first aid room, toilets, two extra turnstiles and a police control room, as we will need them sooner or later anyway.
I sincerely hope that the roof is incorporated into those plans and their omission from the statement was purely oversight. The issue of a roof has gone on for FAR TOO LONG. Kipax mentioned that more than half the ground is covered, maybe, I do not wish to sit, most people do not wish to sit. Also the Whinney Hill is too small, too low, and too many olde worlde people who wanna get as far away from shoute swearee people like me, or the drummer. We wanna be dry, we wanna be loud. We will be both when the roof is in place. Two seasons ago, after promotion to the conference yielded no roof, I got into the habit of not going to a match if the weather was even slightly off. It is an easy habit to lose (going to every match) and we dont have enough fans to start losing some again. We need to keep the ones we have before we start worrying about attracting new fans. Many people have commented previously about whether they can believe what the club tell them as regards future developments - can you imagine the outcry if it is not done in the current round of development? ps Ignore Kipax if he sides with not getting a roof - he will be wetter with raindrops dripping on his touchline hugging bonce if the roof hangs over far enough ;) |

Who hasn't got the guts to say anything when taking karma points? It doesn't worry me anyway. You can take them all if you want.
